Bottom Line: This brief description of Percept is for people who are asking the following questions: "What does it boil down to?" "What will it do for me?" "How is it different from other training programs?" A disclaimer: These questions are challenging for us to answer because within Percept we don't tell other people about themselves. But, we recognize that if you are trying to decide whether to do one of our trainings, the above questions are reasonable to ask. So, we will tell you what we have observed and what has been reported by many of the students that have participated in a Percept Training. Most students of Percept seem to develop a much higher degree of self-acceptance. They also tend to develop more acceptance of their significant others. And when that doesn't happen, they end up being more honest about the limits of their relationships. Most students develop a healthier relationship with power; they stop giving power away and they stop using their power inappropriately. They seem to become less reactive and more effective in dealing with other people because they stop personalizing other people's behaviors. Most students report feeling less stressed and less overwhelmed because they stop feeling responsible for things that they have no control over. Many students have told us that the language of Percept provides a very deliberate and specific practice to use in their lives every day. One student said, "The Percept language is like a set of training wheels that I can strap on anytime I'm feeling out of control, confused, or disconnected from myself." Some students of Percept tell us how Percept helps slow down time. This is hard to explain unless experienced, but we think it has to do with being so thoroughly present that the mind stops running around, jumping from one thing to another. Finally, I will tell you that for me, Percept has helped me be more autonomous and relaxed in my marriage. The result is much greater respect and intimacy. As a psychotherapist, Percept has allowed me to transfer power and responsibility back to my clients in a natural way. As an organizational consultant, Percept has allowed me to more clearly sort out the actual agendas of the different players and this eliminates wasted effort, because there is no confusion or pretense to hide behind. Bottom line for me, Percept offers me greater freedom by taking greater responsibility for myself. Jake Eagle Next... The Percept Orentation |
